The Pinemarten photo was taken on 23rd March 2009 and the badgers on 2nd April, they are both addicted to jam and peanuts but it depends on which arrives first as to who gets the meal, we look forward to seeing them both arrive together!  A Great Spotted woodpecker first seen last year as a juvenile has returned this year as an adult minus his red cap, ornithologists say that it is among the most northerly sightings of this bird.  A Wildcat / cross domestic cat passes though from time to time and deer are regularly seen on the surrounding hills, sometimes very close to the house.  A pair of buzzards nest locally and a sparrowhawk predates the large number of small woodland birds that frequent the natural birch woodland that fronts the house.  These include yellowhammer, long-tailed tit, greenfinch, chaffinch, dunnock, great tit, coal tit, blue tit, siskin, wren and robin.

All photos taken by Mike Rochester actually on the site here at Eadar Da' Sloc.  We cannot guarantee that you will actually see these animals and birds, but do bring your camera and bino's just in case!
